His birth was registered Newmarket Q3-1914 3B:859, his parents were William and Florence M. PLEDGER (née MUSK).

His father died in 1938. In the 1939 register his widowed mother [26-4-1891] was at 19 Granby Street, Newmarket with his sisters Ella F M [27-9-1920] later Mrs PLANT, and Doris M [30-11-1924] later Mrs SANGSTER.

His death was registered in Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire Q3-1940 7B:1552, aged 26.
So far nothing has been found to explain his death.

His headstone in Woodditton reads " In ever loving memory of my dear husband". Possibly she was Phoebe SEAL who married Willam A Pledger in Cambridge in Q3-1940 [3B:2091]
